D&AD New Blood: WWF Final Idea

Tasked with selecting a brief from the D&AD newblood catalogue I went for the WWF one, I'd always wanted to throw my hand at advertising a charity.

The target audience of this brief was 16-24 year olds, they are the 'always on' generation, social media savvy and Facebook fiends.

My idea revolved around the impact improperly discarded cigarette butts had on our environment and it's wildlife. Specifically marine wildlife as cigarette butts commonly make their way into a water source, polluting it and killing the wildlife that call it their habitat. Looking into the amount of those who smoked within the target audience and the ways in which the discarded their cigarettes, I created a campaign that saw the renovation of London Zoo's Marine wing (a location that allowed the most interaction between wildlife and the target audience). The marine wildlife was to be removed from the tanks and filled with cigarette ends. Informational posters would be placed on the tanks detailing the effects out bad habits were having on the marine wildlife. Supporting posters would also be placed around the surrounding London Boroughs.
