Swan - Nobody Steals Your Matches Campaign

Because Nobody Steals Your Matches

The setting is on a canal, two gentlemen stroll along the water as the sun glistens off of it, it's a nice evening. The men are strolling along chatting to each other, in the shot there's a swan that's traveling the canal, behind them.. but heading in their direction. The two men come to a halt as one of the men asks the other if he has a light, the man digs deep into his pocket and pulls out a box of Swan Vestas matches, he hands them over. The other man can be heard lighting the match and we see him take the box and place it into his own pocket. at this moment the swan that has been tailing them leaps majestically out of the water on onto the patch in-front of them, the men are shocked as the swan approaches the man and removes the matches from his pocket and holds them in his beak towards the other man who they rightfully belong too. He takes them with a steady hand and the duck turns and dives back into the water. The two men turn and look at each other. 'Because nobody steals your matches' is exclaimed in a thick male voice. The swan logo appears on screen with Swan Vestas as a large copy below.

IceLolly.com - Doris

Whilst on placement at Gratterpalm me & my creative partner where tasked with creating a social campaign to run alongside a television advert that was in production for the travel comparison company 'IceLolly.com'. The TV advertisement features an electronic ice cream van that stops in front of a woman in the park to show her the weekly deals on offer, thrown in for a bit of comical effect is a taxidermy squirrel that spins around as the ice cream van passes him.

Using this taxidermy squirrel as the focal point for our campaign we called him 'Doris'.

Facebook & Twitter:

Option one: Where did Doris dig? Running alongside the television advertisement is a virtual hunt to find where Doris buried his nuts. IceLolly.com will place images or emoticons of nuts on their Facebook posts which date back as far as 2008, after posting a status to notify their followers that the nut hunt has begun it is down to the public to find them. once found, a screenshot and a comment is required to be sent onto IceLolly.com where the winners will then be given a prize which could possibly be a UK break on the company. This idea could also be replicated on Twitter with IceLolly.com replying to one of their old posts with an image/ emoticon of a nut, a hashtag would accompany the game to generate interest.

Option two: How did Doris depart? This idea is a creative writing prompt. IceLolly.com would ask the question on Facebook through a status, requiring participants to come up the the most interesting and creative ways that Doris ended up as a taxidermy squirrel. IceLolly.com could select their favorite story or leave it down to a Facebook vote through how many likes each post gets. The winner could then receive a UK break on the company. The idea could work on Twitter, however participants would be required to come up with short, creative entries that are limited to 140 characters. The tag #Doris'Demise could run alongside the campaign.

Option Three (Not Doris Related) : Cure the holiday blues. This idea could be reserved for IceLolly.com customers or open to the public. participants are required to send in their best holiday snaps which must feature them holding an ice lolly. these images will then be posted to Facebook & Twitter where the best snap will win a UK break after returning from their trip to help cure their holiday blues.

Vine:

IceLolly.com could post the many videos on Youtube of squirrels surviving amazing falls from height followed up with 'Nope not that time!' These videos would be shareable for the fact that they are interesting and death-defying, creating a buzz around the campaign.

Ambient:

Taxidermy squirrels equipped with collars could be placed around the UK, It is down to the public to find the one that is Doris. Updates from Twitter would help participants find the general area that he's located in and it would be then down to the public to hunt him out. Doris would be the taxidermy squirrel with an ice lolly stuck in his mouth.

Invest in Brewdog's 'Equity for Punks'

Running alongside these images is an idea for the 'Equity for Punks' crowd-funding scheme whereby the first 50 Brewdog drinkers and 'real ale' fans alike could be given shares by Brewdog for visiting every Brewdog bar so far. The journey would take the participants across Europe and It would be good for them to document their travels through short video clips in each bar and the city that it's in. The clips could be turned into a documentary short and be advertised as some sort of 'ale pilgrimage', possibly becoming a thing of legend.

YCN Lego

Brand: Lego

Target Audience: Dads

Media: Television / Print

1. Television advert: The scene starts in the living room of a cosy family home, the father is sat on the sofa reading his paper whilst his 4 year old son is playing below on the carpet, the shot focuses on the child, he's taking the books out of the book case and begins arranging them on the floor, stacking them in many different combinations. The dad glances over, glances back to his paper.. and goes back for the double take. He see's his sons creation, he's impressed. A light bulb suddenly goes off in his head. 'He's Ready' (This could be the first spoken audio of the ad). The paper is dropped down onto the couch and the man springs up. The scene sets to the man climbing the ladders into the loft of his home, he enters and comes down holding a box of his old lego. He comes back down into the living room and places the box infront of his son, he's intrigued.. he reaches into the box and takes two pieces of lego, hold's them for a moment, fiddles about trying to get them together and the suddenly they click! they're together! The shot focuses back onto the father who's been sat watching, he smirks. Enter Lego logo and the line 'Same Brick.. Different Generation'.

2. The scene starts again in the living room of the family home, we can see the son and the father both together on the carpet. The son is playing with his Lego bricks, visible is a castle that the son is building.. it's tall, and appears well built. The dad is struggling with the construction of a shelving unit, he's obviously getting frustrated with the build and we see pieces of it scattered over the carpet. a crashing sound occurs as we see the shelving unit which looks as if it's about to be finished fall apart at all 4 corners into a pile of wood and screws. The dad storms out of the room throwing the blue prints to the shelving unit into the air, they float back towards the ground and land in front of his son who's still busy with his Lego. The scene fades out and restarts with the dad entering the room where to his amazement the shelving unit is stood in all its glory, finished! He looks over to his son who's still fiddling around with his lego brick. The scene fades to black. Enter the Lego logo and tag-line along the lines of 'It all started with Lego' - I'm not too sure if the line 'same brick, different generation' fits too well.

YCN Yorkshire Tea

'Get Some Yorkshire in you'

There's a television advert with this one. Take the setting of a cafe down south, you've got the standard southern accent going on between a male and female both in their early 20's. The conversation has been dry for the last 10 minutes now and the woman is starting to lose interest. A waiter comes over and a mug of Yorkshire Tea is placed on the table. The male pours and take a sip of the clearly marked Yorkshire Tea, he remarks 'Ey up, now that's what tha calls a proper brew' in a true Yorkshire accent. The woman is astounded, and clearly attracted to the man more-so than ever, she asks him what the plan is for later on in the evening, the camera pans to the mans face who's grinning. The screen fades and the Yorkshire Tea logo takes centre point. 'Get some Yorkshire in You' appears below the Logo.
